As Grants & Contracts Manager, Jess is responsible for administration of sponsored research funding for the Shlomchik lab, including pre-award grant and contract submissions, and post-award oversight of sponsored research accounts through account closeout. Jess started working in research administration in 2006 at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, and has worked in a variety of roles in multiple departments and the Office of Research during her tenure at Pitt. She became a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) in 2022.
Jess has been an active member of Staff Council, and served as Operations committee chair for two terms, as well as a member of the jEDI committee, Senate Council Bylaws and Procedures committee, and Senate Council Educational Policies committee. Jess has also served as PittWomen Co-Chair, and Vice President of the Pitt Committee of Research Administrators (CoRA).
